- In a sewing machine, use it only for bobbinwork or couching: hand-wind bobbins and loosen (or bypass) the bobbin tension.
- For hand embroidery, cut a length from fingertip to elbow. If it curls, run a damp sponge along it.
- Creates bold edge finishes in serger loopers.
